It's about time to post again. In the January Ensign Elder Nelson said that the First Vision took place in the Sacred Grove in April. So we think that we would like to see the Grove in April and that it would be a wonderful time of the year to come to Palmyra. If you had come to Palmyra in late March early April this is what the grove would look like. The spirit is still very strong in the grove and about one day in 20 it is warm in the Grove, but it does not have leaves on the trees and green underbrush.

Your pictures caused me some deep contemplation and research. In my mind I have always pictured Joseph going into the grove with the trees covered in leaves and the ground green and vibrant. Maybe the leaves were just starting to bud when he entered the grove. Something new to think about! Your pictures were wonderful!
Thanks for the pictures mom and dad! So, most of the pictures/movies that are drawn of the sacred grove are a little off. Can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks!!!
